EHS is
responsible for diverse set of regulations applicable to the University's
work environment. Most of these regulations are promulgated by the Federal
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or it's South Carolina
equivalent (SC Office of Occupational Safety and Health), although other
consensus regulations (National Fire Protection Association (NFPA),
American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), American
Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE),
etc.) are applied when applicable.
